The Rhynchostylis are also often called foxtail orchids. This is because of their long bunches of flowers, which are reminiscent of the tail of a fox.
This plant likes strong sunlight, but not directly. Diffuse light is more beneficial. Direct afternoon sunlight can burn the leaves. The plant likes a strong air movement around the roots.
